5 Pieces from LA’s Boutique Fashion Gem That I Almost Bought This Month

Here are the 5 pieces from LANG that’s been on my mind.

Tucked between a bakery and a stationer-coffee shop, is a boutique that sells the most adorable fashion pieces so lovingly curated that you can’t help but think about them days later.

In a retail landscape largely dominated by fast fashion and a heavy emphasis of trends over storytelling, LANG emerges as a refreshing antidote, offering a curated selection that speaks to the modern Asian American experience all while remaining accessible to fashion enthusiasts of all backgrounds. Founded with a vision to bridge cultural gaps through clothing, LANG isn’t just another boutique. It’s a statement about representation in fashion.

What sets LANG apart it its meticulous curation, largely focusing on carrying brands that center around Made to Order pieces. Each piece is intentionally chosen, creating a narrative that extends beyond mere clothing. The selection ranges from streetwear staples like graphic tees reimagined through an Asian American lens to more avant-garde pieces that are as equally referential as they are experimental.

/Mariposa Top by Second Skin

Notes from Blue: “It’s sheer. It’s lace. So you will have to be careful in cleaning this. But this is quite a versatile piece for the warmer months. Specifically layered with a spaghetti strap top. I really wouldn’t recommend wearing this with a tank top because the thickness of the shoulder straps distracts from the lace detail. And I know they styled it with a low rise, but it would also work well with a high rise”.

Genevieve Shirt by Find Me Now

Notes from Blue: “I don’t need another white button up shirt, but if I did, I would buy this in a heart beat. The bow detail is located on top of the button hole, and yes, there are still buttons on this. You won’t be dependent on the security of your bow tying skills. Maybe pair this with a tea-length skirt and a rattan tote bag, tie the front into a lose bow, and you got yourself a cute summer galivanting outfit. It’s also 100% cotton, which makes me love it more”.

Lucky Knot by Yat Pit

Notes from Blue: “The open back with the red sting detail makes this piece playful. I would style this with black cargo pants for an day full of errands, especially now that the weather is getting hotter. You can also layer this with a super loose mesh top, perfect concert outfit”.

Fleece Sweatpants by Yat Pit

Notes from Blue: “I love the paperbag style in sweatpants form. And I appreciate that it’s a straight fit rather than having it taper towards the end and making it a parachute. It’s as fun as it is comfortable. Since it is made with fleece I would recommend wearing this for those long car rides where you need all the comfort you can get. But I also think this would be cute enough as a cover up for a beach trip”.

Elena Slip Dress by athenaeum(m.)

Notes from Blue: “The placements of the rouching in this one really calls to me. It adds a feminine detail that you can dress up or down. Once again, you will have to be careful in cleaning this because it is lace and satin, but it really is an investment piece you can wear year round in Southern California. This also comes in a top version but I feel like a slip dress is more up to my speed”.
